Artist, Liu Chunhua was born in Tailai county, Heilongjiang provinceChina in 1944.

In 1959, he entered the secondary school attached to the Lu Xun Art Academy in Shenyang. He enrolled in the Applied Arts Department of the Central Industrial Arts Academy in 1963. During this period, created the oil-painting 'Chairman Mao goes to Anyuan'. After graduation, Liu engaged in various types of art work and worked as an editor at the Beijing Publishing House before he joined the Beijing Academy in 1979. Liu specializes in oil painting and Chinese painting.

Liu traveled a lot China to paint from life and the nature. He has been trying to depict the present life by employing the traditional techniques and to express the philosophy of life through the daily life under his brush. His brush strokes are clean-cut, his paintings are implicit and meaningful.

His Chinese painting Spring is surely to come and some of his other works have won the award of Beijing excellent artistic works and have been on display and been collected in Hong Kong and Taiwan area in China and other countries and areas. Published "Selected paintings by Liu Chunhua". His name is in many who's who dictionaries.

He is a vice chairman of Beijing Artists Association, council member of Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the director of Beijing Jury of Appraising Artists Qualifications for Senior Titles. He was the director of the Beijing Art Academy.
