Artist : Nie Ou, a well known female artist in China, she was born in ShenYang City, Liaoning Province, China in 1948.
In 1960, she started her 6 years study of Chinese Brush Ink Painting in Beijing Municipal Children Center. In 1978, she enrolled in the Graduate School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in Traditional Chinese Brush Ink Painting. After her graduation in 1980, she was assigned to work in the Beijing Academy of the Fine Arts.
Her painting Morning Mist was awarded second prize in the Beijing Fine Art Competition and was chosen for exhibition held in the United States of America.
In 1987, Nie Ou's paintings were exhibited in the Switzerland Basel International Art Fair, One of her works Sorghum was chosen for permanent collection by the Art Fair. In the same year, her oil painting Hut was selected to participate in the Contemporary Chinese Oil Paintings Exhibition in New York.
From 1981 to 1988, Nie Ou's paintings were selected to participate in every exhibitions sponsored by the prestigious Beijing Academy of Fine Arts and, in exhibitions sponsored by the Beijing Artists Association. Her works have been exhibited in many countries in Europe, America and Asia.
Nie Ou is presently a professional artist of the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts. She is a National First Grade Artist.
